Woolworths have launched a new plant-based mince recently and I’ve decided to sample it with three of my favourite recipes.
This is the first 100% Plant Based Vegan Mince that I’ve used that has been fresh (traditionally this product has been frozen). The packaging is on pair with its meat-counterpart and is designed to keep the mince fresh and moist. Out of the package it looks and feels like raw mince. The texture and pink-colour is identical to the real [animal cruelty] version.
Meatballs:
The mince works the same way as ordinary beef-mince. I struggled to keep my meatballs bound and had to play wit’s the recipe to get these right. Overall the meat taste works so well and stands up to the rich tomato/basil sauce. Recommend giving this a go!

Burgers:
My favourite alternative (?) to take-away. These burgers are moist, flavourful and so satisfying. Served with an onion relish and some guilty fries.

Bolognese:
This is completely where the plant-based mince works best. This is exactly how I remember meat-bolognese tasting. The meat remains moist while still having texture and bite. The taste is oh-so-delicious.
